

She was born January 4, 1931 in Augusta County, the daughter of the late Herman “Hugh” Luther Baber and Cora Parr Baber Lawson.
Sally was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved to cook and was always sharing recipes and making dishes for friends and family.
She was a member of Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren in Crimora where she served as a Deacon and on various committees.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Wimer and a son, William E. Wimer, Jr.; siblings, Dorothy Lawhorn, Mildred Baugher, Elsie Arnold, Frances “Tank” Tinnell, Mary Jane Pace, John “Jim” Baber and Elmer Baber.
Survivors include her children, Harold Wimer and J. Darlene Wimer; grandchildren, Kim Shifflett (Jimmy) and Jeff Wimer; great-grandchildren, Brandon Taylor (Christy Painter), Zach Fisher (Brittany Clark), Jakob Wimer and Shyann Shifflett; great-great grandchildren, Westyn Wimer and Stiles Taylor; brother-in-law, Harold “Bud” Wimer (Glenda); sister-in-law, Margaret Wimer; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 93 Samon's Circle, Crimora with Pastors Brenda and Rob Via officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jakob Wimer, Zach Fisher, Brandon Taylor, Jimmy Shifflett, Steven Wimer and Jimmy Wimer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Wimer, David Wimer, Dan Wine, Westyn Wimer, Stiles Taylor and Kenny Guy.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on the day of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sally’s memory to the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery Fund, 11 Belvidere Rd., Crimora, Va 24431 or Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, 1012 14th Street, NW, Suite 500 Washington, DC 20005.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and Crematory.
