Shirley Puckett

Born August 26, 1939 in Augusta County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar C. and Mattie (Cash) Hogsett. On July 10, 1956 she married, Morris Pace Puckett. The two shared a blessed union of 58 years together.

Shirley enjoyed spending time and caring for her family. They were her greatest joy in life. In earlier years, she loved taking cruises with her husband, as well as traveling to Hawaii and the Bahamas. She was co-owner with her husband of Fitzgerald Tires in Charlottesville, until his retirement.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Hogsett in 2005; her best friend, Shirley Fitzgerald in January 2015.

In addition to her loving husband, survivors include her three daughters, Sharon Lynn Johnson of Crozet, Frances Darlene Harris of Waynesboro and Dawn Michele Anderson and husband, Jeff of Waynesboro; sisters, Marion Nuchols of Staunton and Edith Gibson of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Christina Kestner, Valerie Blankenship, David Harris and wife, Miranda, Travis Anderson and Timmy Anderson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St. with Pastor Jerry Cline officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Jeff Anderson, Travis Anderson, Timmy Anderson, Tony Campbell, Brian Marks and Ross Price.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the funeral home.
