

Born June 6, 1934 in Lyndhurst, she was a daughter of the late Worth and Nellie (Robertson) Wheeler.
Thelma was a member of the former Lyndhurst United Methodist Church. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially hosting get-togethers where she would cook for them. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry N. Thompson; brothers, Ray and James Wheeler; sister-in-law, Mary Wheeler; and brothers-in-law, Jack Fisher and Harold Englert.
Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Carroll of Stuarts Draft; grandchildren, Penny Altizer and husband, Walter, and Travis Carroll and fiancé, Theresa Hoysradt; great-grandchildren, Johnathan and Nathan Altizer, and Alexis Hoysradt; step-grandson, Pedro Thompson and wife, Patricia and their children, Hailey and John; two sisters, Shirley Englert of Lyndhurst and Jean Fisher of Waynesboro; sister-in-law, Jane Wheeler of Weyers Cave; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Lyndhurst Faith and Fellowship Church, 2835 Lyndhurst Road, Lyndhurst.
Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Dave Chappell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Travis Carroll, Steven Fisher, Walter Altizer, Nathan Altizer, Pedro Thompson, and E.J. Hewitt.
