Thelma Gay Waggy

She was born July 2, 1926 in Bolar, Highland County, a daughter of the late Boyd and Carrie Bussard.

Gay was a devoted mother who loved her family, was strong in her faith and was a servant of the Lord. She was a lifetime member of Advent Christian Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Ralph Douglas Waggy.

Survivors include her children, Laura Bowersox and husband, David, Phyllis Rodeffer and husband, Dennis, Pam Shiflett and husband, Mike, Penny Hays and husband, Woody, James Waggy and wife, Tammy, Milford Waggy and Pauletta Waggy; grandchildren, Summer Patteson and husband, Mike, Paige Ryder and husband, T.J., Carrie Davis and husband, Travis, Patrick Shiflett and wife, Kelly, Justin Rodeffer, Karah Bunch, Ty Thompson and wife, Tamara; great-grandchildren, Ave’ Patteson, Lydia Patteson, Beckett Ryder, Nolan Davis, Corbin Davis, Harlin Davis, Maci Shiflett, Addison Mays and MaKenna Thompson; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other children she cared for over the years as her own.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Augusta Memorial Park with her family members presiding. Those wishing to attend the service may meet directly at the cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Patrick Shiflett, Justin Rodeffer, Travis Davis, T.J. Ryder, Doug Waggy and James Waggy.
