Thomas Talmage Hughes

Thomas Talmage Hughes, 82, of Crimora passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Augusta Health. Born September 8, 1938 in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Samuel Talmage Hughes and Lelia (Patrick) Weaver and Homer Weaver, Sr. On October 31, 1964 he married Thelma Marie Conley. The two shared a blessed marriage of 56 years. Prior to retirement, Thomas was employed by G.E. and later Genicom where he worked for many years. Thomas greatly enjoyed spending time tinkering with electronics and fixing TVs. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Homer Weaver, Jr. and Joda Hughes. Survivors include his loving wife, Thelma Hughes; sons, Gregory Thomas Hughes of Crimora and Joseph Williams of Fishersville; grandson, Preston Williams of Fishersville; sisters, Frances Smith of Richmond, Ruby Ann Fisher of Fishersville, and Wanda Breeden of New Hope; brother, Richard Folsom of Nellysford; special niece, Tammy Hughes Combs; and a number of nieces and nephews. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro with Pastor Ronnie Martin. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Due to COVID-19 facemasks and social distancing will be required.
