Vera Collins Janos

Vera was born in Huttonsville, WV to Gracie (Channell) Pingley and Eugene E. Pingley on August 28, 1932. Vera worked for GE and Genicom on the factory floor as well as raising her family. She is described by her family as “The best mom and grandma anyone could ask for.” She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, who took especially good care of her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. Those that knew her, know that she was a great person who had a wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Collins; a son, Gene Collins; and a son-in-law, Jimmy Kiracofe.

Vera is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, John Janos of Painesville, OH; daughters, Linda Kiracofe of Waynesboro, and Judy Rovelli and husband, Thomas, of Florida; and son, Mike Collins and wife, Nancy, of Fishersville. In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; as well as her sisters, Roxie Swecker and husband, Edwell, Thelma Stover, and Joan Pingley.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Rev. Francis X. Musolooza and Pastor Jeff Swecker officiating. Burial will take place at Augusta Memorial Park immediately following the service.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Jamie Kiracofe, Jennifer Prawdzik, Brandon Collins, Shrimp Wright, Mandy Cash, Shane Collins, and Austin Collins.

Following the committal service at Augusta Memorial Park, a meal will be held at Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren at 19 Browns Ln, Waynesboro, VA.
