Allen Eugene VanGilder II

He was born Wednesday, April 28, 1948 in Fairmont,WV a son of the late Allen E. VanGilder and Bonnie Gower VanGilder.

He was a member of the United Mine Workers Local #1702, the Bobtown Polish Club and the James T. Maxon American Legion Post #992 of Mt. Morris, PA. He enjoyed woodworking and giving things to people. When his health permitted he loved going to flea markets and auctions. He really loved to fish. Everyone knew him for his horseradish pickles and beef jerky. He worked as a coal miner for over 40 years with Consol Blacksville #2. His Wife: Linda Tennant VanGilder whom he married on September 18, 1989 survives. Also surviving are 2 Daughters: Heather Yusko and husband Tim of Scenery Hill, PA and Holly Miranov and husband Andy of Pentress, WV. 1 Stepson: Chris Layman and wife Carol of Fairview, WV. 6 Grandchildren: Quinlin Vasquez, Carson Squires, Emersyn Miranov, Remington Miranov, Gavin Layman and Garrett Layman. 1 Sister: Beverly Gall of Fairmont, WV and several nieces and nephews. Deceased: 2 Sisters- Patti Perdue and Sharon Linn

Friends will be received from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, January 15, 2021 in the Milliken and Throckmorton FH,Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director,324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478 Mount Morris, PA 15349 Due to Covid-19 Restrictions masks must be worn in the funeral home at all times and social distancing must be observed. Crowd size will be limited due to the CDC Guidelines. Funeral Services will be Private and held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Fred Eddy officiating.
