Gay Clelland-Hardy

She was born in McKeesport, PA, a daughter of the late Patsy and Gaylord Clelland. She was a graduate of West Middlesex High School in PA and Waynesburg University. She received a teaching certificate from California University of PA. She retired from the PA Department of Corrections, SCI Fayette with over 20 years of service as an education guidance counselor. She also worked for Greene ARC and as a substitute teacher. She enjoyed hosting gatherings of her friends and family, vacationing on Lake Chautauqua, NY and the Outer Banks, NC - her favorite beach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin and loving aunt, Marguerite Kritz.

Surviving is her husband of 32 years, Donnie Hardy and son, D.J. Hardy of Waynesburg, PA; brother, Keith Clelland of Erie, PA; brother-in-law, Bill Hardy of Clarksville, PA; sister-in-law, Carol Porter (John) of Bridgeport, WV; nieces, Morgan Clelland of Pittsburgh, PA and Kelsey Clelland of Erie, PA; nephews, Matt Pierce (Shelby) of Farmington, WV, Josh Pierce (Casey) of Fairmont, WV, and Cody Porter (Paige) of Bridgeport, WV.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life on Thursday, November 2 from 4 PM to 6 PM at Behm Funeral Home, 182 W. High St., Waynesburg, PA 15370. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Greene County Humane Society.
