John Ross Conner

He was born Tuesday, February 07, 1950 in Whiteley Twp.,Greene County,PA. A son of the late Edward L. Conner and Helen Higgins Conner.

Mr. Conner was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waynesburg. He retired from the United States Airforce after serving for 23 years. He served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Conner enjoyed gardening and singing gospel music. Following his service with the Airforce he worked for 3 years with security at the Waynesburg College. He then worked for 17 years as a correction officer with SCI Greene in Waynesburg.

He is survived by his Wife: Anna Mary Brumley Conner, whom he married on August 08, 1992.

Also surviving are 2 Daughters: Amy (Solomon) Evans, and Stacey (James) Post, all of Lithia Springs, GA., 2 Sons:

Robert Gregory (Christina) Phillips, and Michael Ryan Phillips, all of Waynesburg, PA., 10 Grandchildren and 2 Great Granddaughters., 1 Brother: Randy L. (Erma) Conner, of Waynesburg, PA., 1 Aunt: Shirley Higgins Sanner of Carmichaels, PA. and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are 1 Brother: Edward Livingston Conner, Jr.

Friends will be received from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2016 in the Milliken and Throckmorton FH, Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director,197 N. Maiden St Waynesburg, PA 15370 where services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, March 18, 2016 with Rev. Dr. Edward Peirce officiating. Burial will be in Mt.Pleasant Cemetery, Whiteley Twp.,Greene Co. PA. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by representatives of SCI Greene.
