It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a truly wonderful man, our dad John, who left us on June 1st. Born on March 21st, 1953, our dad lived a life defined by unwavering dedication, boundless love, and an exceptional work ethic that inspired everyone around him.
Dad was a man who understood the value of hard work, consistently putting in long hours to provide for his family. His commitment to his responsibilities was unmatched, and he approached every task with integrity and determination. He built a life not just through his labor, but through the strong foundation of his character.
While his professional achievements were notable, it was his role as a father that brought him the greatest joy and fulfillment. He loved his children more than anything in the world. His kids were his pride and joy, and he poured his heart and soul into raising them, teaching them the importance of kindness, resilience, and perseverance. Every moment spent with them was cherished, and his love was a constant, guiding force in their lives. We are immensely proud to call him our Dad.
He will be deeply missed by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him. John was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Dorothy and Dennis J. Loughman. He spent many years working for General Dynamics as a weld inspector as well as owning his own mobile welding business. John also used his welding expertise on army tanks for the military. He loved to travel in his big white van with his sidekick Katie (his dog) by his side. John’s favorite spot was in Bradenton, Florida where he grew up. He was quite the jokester and social butterfly that made friends with everyone he met. John spent much of his time building wood projects with his grandchildren who admired and looked up to him. He is survived by his 3 children, Lauren (Kevin) Studt, Autumn (Frank) Carlile, and Judson (McKenzie) Loughman. His brothers Max (Kelly) Loughman, Van (Eileen) Loughman, and Timothy (Linda) Renner. Grandchildren, Damon, Shaler, Hayden, Kaiden, Emersyn, and Atlas who will all miss him so dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Dorothy, brother Danny and his dog Katie. All services will be private. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. “What a bunch!!” “You never know what’s on the next page.” “ Be the best because you are the best” “ Love you forever” Papa.
John ”My Brother.” As young kids, he was always the one to get you into something you shouldn’t be doing. Ornery things, never bad but sometimes enough to bring the wrath of our Dad or Mom. He made life fun. Our lives were full of long days at the lake, jeep rides around the farm with our oldest brother John driving, motorcycles and friends.
In the back of my mind I knew he was always there, all I had to do was call or stop by, he’d be waiting with a big heart and a great sense of humor. He was loved and I miss him terribly. -Max
