

She was born March 8,1926, a daughter of Edward Miles and Margaret Stineman Powell of Waynesburg.
Mrs. Murdock was a graduate of Waynesburg College with a degree in English. At various times in her life, she was an employee of the Washington Observer (Greene County Pages), a substitute teacher in the Waynesburg and West Greene High Schools, a trustee of the Bowlby Library and in 1974, The Chairman of the Greene County American Revolution Bicentennial Observance. Mrs. Murdock was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing duplicate bridge for over 50 years. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing and knitting. She was also an author who wrote “Bent Twigs”, the multigenerational biographies of the Steinman’s, Powell’s and Murdock’s.
Mrs. Murdock was a lifetime member of the Waynesburg First Presbyterian Church and for some years, sang in its choir and taught Sunday school.
On November 21, 1948, she married Raymond (Buck) Murdock, who died on February 4, 1992.. In addition to her parents deceased are her sisters, Bobbi Stitt and Catherine Simmers.
She is survived by her three sons, Dale (Debbi), Rick (Marina) and Stephen Murdock.
Her grandchildren include: Brandon (Tara) Murdock, Dr. Erin Murdock, Beth (Nick) Cericola and Miles Murdock.
There will be a greeting of friends and family at the First Presbyterian Church in Waynesburg on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00PM the time of a Celebration of Life Service with Rev. William Sukolsky officiating. Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director of 197 N.Maiden St. Waynesburg,PA are in charge of arrangements.
