

He was born Sunday, August 28, 1960 in Waynesburg,PA. A son of the late Ross W. Shipman and Wilma J. Orndoff Shipman.
Mr. Shipman was a member of the Oakview United Methodist Church in Waynesburg and a former member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ruff Creek, PA. He served with the U.S. Marines Corps. during the Iran Contra Affair. He enjoyed working on cars and was an all around handyman. He also loved shooting his guns. Mr. Shipman loved spending time with and taking care of his 2 dogs Layla and Sargie. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was a former member of the Waynesburg Volunteer Fire Department where he was also a Paramedic. While in Florida he worked as a Deputy Sheriff in Lee County. and was a Lieutenant at the Hendry Correctional Facility in Immokalee, Florida. After moving back to Greene County he worked as a Sergeant at the Greene County Prison in Waynesburg. He later worked for G4S Security Systems as a security guard.
He is survived by his Wife: Shirley Kay Bennett Shipman, whom he married on April 03, 2004.
Also surviving are 3 Daughters: Kimberly Huffman, of Georgetown, DE., Rachael (John) Blouir, of Waynesburg, PA.,
Chelsie (Daniel) Squires, of Spraggs, PA.,1 Son: David L.(Alison) Shipman, of Clarksville, PA., 3 Grandchildren: Jayden Shipman, Kira Blouir, and Payten Shipman, 2 Sisters: Amy D. Brownfield, of Waynesburg, PA., and Cynthia J. Artis, of Belton , MO
and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, June 04, 2016 in the Milliken and Throckmorton FH,Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director,197 N. Maiden St Waynesburg, PA 15370 where services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Sunday June 05, 2016 with Rev. John Jackson officiating. Burial will be private.
