Barbara Louise Briggs

Barbara Louise Briggs, 93, of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026. Barbara was born on October 27, 1932, in Springfield, OH to the late James Benjamin and Eva Marsh Garrett.

Barbara attended Maggie Valley Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her love of her husband and family.

In addition to her parents Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bruce Briggs; and brother, Bennie Elwin Garrett.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Garrett Leonard Briggs and wife Joan of Atlantic Beach, FL, Robert Bruce Briggs and wife Cynthia of Waynesville, NC, and James Benjamin Briggs and fiance Tammy Brown of Maggie Valley, NC; grandchildren, Molly Richardson and husband Brett, Katie Deal and husband Ray, Brittni Thompson and husband Jeff, Bradley Briggs and Malloree Francis; and great-grandchildren, Dominic, Isla, Aspen, Brayden and Elle Rose.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 19, in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home with the Reverend Mike Shirley officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
