

Charlie Jacob Clement “Beloved Husband of 62 Years” Maggie Valley, NC - Charlie Jacob Clement, 95, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 surrounded by his family at the NC State Veterans Home. He was born February 5, 1920 to the late William A.R. and Fannie Burr Lowe Clement. He served his country honorably in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, Australia and Philippine Islands as a sergeant airplane mechanic on the B-24 bomber. He retired from Dayco Industries following 40 years of service. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Larry DeWayne Clement; two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Clement; and sister, Hattie Victoria Clement. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Ruby Lee Rich Clement, son, Terry Douglas Clement of Maggie Valley, NC; daughter, Mitzi Cline and her husband Derek of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Ella Grace and Noah Cline both of Hickory, NC; niece, Mary Helen Clement of Waynesville, NC; and nephew, David Clement of Maggie Valley, NC. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Garrett Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Nelson and Millard Grant officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Military graveside honors will follow funeral services at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.
