Dessie Ammons, age 87, of Waynesville, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Dessie was born in Sylva, NC to the late Willie and Nola Ashe Barnes.
Dessie worked for over 30 years for the Asheville Citizen Times. She enjoyed reading and watching Western shows on TV.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Ammons; sons, Randall Ammons and Alan Ammons; and two sisters and two brothers.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Linda Rich of Sylva, NC; grandchildren, Tracey (Melissa) Rich, Zachary Bombay, and Joseph Bombay; four great grandchildren, William Rich, Kameron Rich, Kaiden Bombay and Creedence Bombay; and two sisters.
There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
