Dorothy "Dot" (Caldwell) McGaha

Waynesville, NC - Dorothy Jane Caldwell McGaha, age 90 passed away, Sunday, May 23, 2021. She was born in Haywood County on November 22, 1930 to the late Grover and Hattie Kate Bradley Caldwell.

Dot was a longtime teacher retiring after 40 years with the Haywood County School System. She was also a member of Dellwood Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Vester McGaha.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Tony McGaha and his wife Teresa; grandson, Heath McGaha and wife, Amanda; granddaughter, Carrie Sutton and her husband, Ben and three great grandchildren, Sol Sutton, Jobe Sutton, and Raylee McGaha.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home with the Reverend Bobby Rogers officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Broyhill Children's Home.
