Edith Romaine Allen

Charlotte-Edith Romaine Allen, 66, died on Sunday, September 4, 2016, at Mint Hill Senior Living Center. Edith was born in Waynesville, North Carolina, on January 26, 1950, to the late William Gideon and Christine Casey Allen. Edith was a graduate of Tuscola High School and Haywood Community College, from where she retired in 1999 after twenty plus years of faithful service. Edith was a member of New Covenant Church in Clyde, North Carolina. In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her sister, Artis Elizabeth Lee. Edith is survived by her son, Christyeon Jones and his wife, Cathy of Matthews, North Carolina; her grandsons, Khalil Gaymon and Jacob Jones; her sister, Mary Wilson and her husband, Odell of Charlotte North Carolina; her nieces, Nancy Bell of Charlotte, North Carolina and Connie Lockhart and her husband Fred of Charlotte, North Carolina; her nephews, Charles Malik, of Charlotte, North Carolina, James Martin, Jr. and his wife, Karen of Knoxville, Tennessee, Corey Martin of Spartanburg, South Carolina, John Lee of Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Ernest Lee of Waynesville, North Carolina; and twelve great nephews and nieces. Edith’s Home Going Celebration will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 10, at New Covenant Church with the Pastor Nick Honerkamp officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
