Ernest Owen Bryson, age 72, of Sylva, NC passed away at his residence on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Owen was born in Jackson County on March 7, 1952, to the late May Bell Lewis Bryson. He enjoyed working on cars, going to car shows, and going to vintage camper shows. Owen honorably served his country for 14 years in the US Marine Corps.
In addition to his mother, Owen was preceded in death by the father who raised him, Fred Reed; and a brother, Stephen Edward Bryson.
Owen is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Rita Pannell Bryson; son, Tony Bryson; daughter, DelRita Roberts (Brian); grandchildren, Austin Bryson, Tanner Bryson, Eli Bryson, and Nathan Roberts; sisters, Pamela Bryson and Robyn Early; best friend, Don Burkhardt (Vicky); and very special sister-in-law, Katherine McGaha (Bill).
