Mrs. Faye C. Smathers age 78 of Waynesville, passed away June 24, 2014. She was preceded in death by her mother Addie Sherrill Fish; husband Willis “Bud” Smathers; son Steve Smathers; and brother Bill Conard. Mrs. Smathers worked at AC Lawrence, Wellco, retired from C.J. Harris Hospital and volunteered with Haywood Christian Ministries. Survivors include her son Thomas and his wife Lisa Smathers of Waynesville; daughter in law Laura Smathers of Washington GA; half brother Jeff Fish; grandsons Richard, Tommy, Justin, and Daniel Smathers; granddaughters Haley Murphy, Carrie Faulk; eight great-grandchildren; and many special friends and neighbors of Orion Davis Road. Funeral Services will be held at 2PM Thursday, June 26, 2014 in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with Rev. Matt Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from Noon until the service hour.
