Glenda "Maggie" M. Sorrells

Waynesville-Glenda M. “Maggie” Sorrells, 78 passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Mission Hospital-Memorial Campus. Maggie was born in Haywood County on June 23, 1941, to the late Hobert and Fannie Burr Parton White. She enjoyed reading, camping in the Smoky Mountains and traveling with her husband, Tom. Most of all Maggie loved spending time with her family. She retired from Haywood County Hospital with 27 years of faithful service.

In addition to her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by an infant sister.

Maggie is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Thomas “Tom” Sorrells; son Danny Sorrells (Jan); daughter, Linda Sorrells; grandsons Adam Sorrells (Crystal) and Travis Sorrells (Katie); great-grandchildren, Zachary and Chloe Burch and Ty and Kase Sorrells; her beloved dogs, Rufus and Freckles; and many cousins.

A memorial service celebrating Maggie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 1, in the Mausoleum Chapel of Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Reverend Chris Jennings officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
