Jesse Ray Gunter

Waynesville, NC - Jesse Ray Gunter age 91 was born on January 10, 1930 to the late James and Rebecca Burgess Gunter. He served in the US Army from 1951 - 1954. On December 31st, 1954, he married Jessie Ann Gunter and together they had two children. In 1962 he started Gunter Trucking until he retired. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in East Flat Rock.

Jesse Ray Gunter went home to be with his Lord on June 1, 2021 at age 91. He is survived by a daughter Alecia Gunter; a son, Keith Gunter and his wife Connie; two grandchildren, Noel Pearson and Nikki Reid; and two great-grandchildren, Anabelle Pearson and Caroline Pearson; and many relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; wife, Jessie Ann Gunter; several sisters and a brother.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Garrett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park immediately following the service.
