Johnny Penland Plott

Waynesville-Johnny Penland Plott, 72, died on January 18, 2016, at the Charles George VA Medical Center Hospice. Johnny was born in Haywood County on March 30, 1943, to the late Fred and Sammie Penland Plott. Johnny was an avid sportsman and loved spending time with his family. He retired from Dayco after 30 plus years of service and was a US Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by a brother Mont Plott and a sister Marietta Plott. Johnny is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Sutton Plott; a son, Monte Plott; two daughters, Renee Liner and Julia Plott and her husband Edmund New; his daughter-in-law, Christy Plott; his grandchildren, Levi Birchall, Taylor Plott, Caleb Plott, Trent New, and Amos Rich; and his special dog, Pixie. A memorial service celebrating Johnny’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 30, at Hazelwood Presbyterian church with Patrick Womack officiating. The family will receive friends from 9-11 prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice or to Hazelwood Presbyterian Church.
