

Jordan Taylor Urban, 20, of Stuttgart Germany, passed away unexpectedly in Waynesville, North Carolina on August 8, 2015. Jordan graduated from Patch American High School in 2013 and was a sophomore at the University of Alabama. Roll Tide!! He had an intense passion for politics and international affairs and a philanthropic interest that motivated him and others through him, throughout his lifetime. Jordan was intelligent, compassionate, and had the courage to explore and challenge complicated political and social issues. He was dedicated to making this world a better place, and destined to make a difference. It was impossible to have known Jordan, whether only for a few brief moments or a lifetime, and not have been profoundly affected by him. The loss of this incredible and so very special, young man is unmeasurable. Jordan was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jane Sherrill Miller; his grandfather, George Augustus Miller Sr.; and his aunt, Caroline Miller. He is survived by his mother Laura Miller Israel; stepfather Kerry Israel; sister, Bailey Urban; father Jeff Urban; half-brother and sister, Austin and Morgan Urban; and 27 cherished cousins. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, August 12, at Waynesville First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Sandy Giles officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at the church.
