Katherine Gladys Mason Landreth “Memie” Clyde - Katherine Gladys Mason Landreth, 89, known as “Memie” to family and friends, passed away into the arms of angels surrounded by family on February 2, 2015, at The Solace Center Hospice House of CarePartners in Asheville, NC. She was born on May 25, 1925, in Maysville, Kentucky to the late Elmer & Radney (Hartley) Mason. She was preceded in death by her brother William “Buck” (Irene) Mason; half-brothers Cecil Mason and Walter Mason; half-sister Iva “Ivy” Hughes; and sisters Edna (Clifford) Grossenbaugh, Lucille (Bud) Werline, Jessie Bell (Dee) Cooper, and Almeda (George Thomas) Breeze. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of almost 72 years, Ivan “Popie” Landreth, of Clyde, NC; her three daughters, Joyce Ann Walsh of Clyde, Iva Lena Gallatin of Lehigh Acres, Florida, and Radney Kay (Mike) Fugate of Campton, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Memie was a funny, wonderful, simple homemaker from Kentucky whose entire life was spent serving her family and friends. She was most passionate about her loved ones, and will be greatly missed by all. As per her request, there will be no memorial services.
