
Canton-Linda Lewis Parker, 77 died on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at her residence. Linda was born in Haywood County on September 24, 1941, to the late William “Bill” and Mary Phillips Lewis. She was an avid traveler, including going out west, going to Lake Chatuge, and Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee. Linda was very passionate throughout her career in cosmetology. She was a NC State Cosmetology Inspector, and owned, and operated three beauty salons. Linda also taught cosmetology at Southwestern Tech, Haywood Community College, and Alpha Beauty School. Most of all, Linda was a firm believer in Jesus Christ.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Parker.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Pam Breedlove (Matthew); a son, Anthony Parker (Vicki); grandchildren, Laura Williams (Dee) and Shawn Owens and (Ashley) ; brother, David Lewis; sisters, Geneva Barham (Lee), Sharon Purcell (David), and Becky Watson (Denny); several beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 5, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations. Burial will follow at Sunburst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
