

Maggie Valley – Ruby Lee Rich Clement, 82, passed away Wednesday February 15, 2017 at the Abernethy Laurels Retirement Community in Newton, NC. She was born October 2, 1934 to the late Charlie Lee Rich and Zeomia Vanalee McGaha Rich. She was a graduate of Waynesville Township High School, worked most of her life as a dedicated house wife, loving wife, mother, and prolific farmer. In addition, she served 20 years as a part time employee at the Haywood County Farm Service Agency serving the farming community. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61-1/2 years, Charlie Jacob Clement; her son Larry Dewayne Clement; her sister Nettie Frances Rich; her brother George Thomas Rich. Left to cherish her memory are a son Terry Douglas Clement of Maggie Valley; a daughter Mitzi Denee Cline and her husband Derek of Hickory; two grandchildren Ella Grace Cline and Noah Cline both of Hickory; two brothers Clyde Wilburn Rich and John Solomon Rich of Maggie Valley; one sister Dorothy Mae Rich Gibson of Maggie Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday February 19, 2017 at Garrett Funeral Home with the Reverends Erma Bond, Amy White Forga, and Jerry Nelson. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday February 19, 2017 at the funeral home followed by graveside services at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.
