Sherry Lynn Daniels Pheasant, 64, of the Big Cove Community of Cherokee, North Carolina, passed away on May 17, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Sherry was born on June 13, 1961, in Huntington, West Virginia (Cabell County), to Donna Jean Harless Daniels and Leo Edward Daniels, Sr. She was a proud alumna of Central Gwinnett High School and built a life rooted in creativity and connection. She worked as a cosmetologist and photographer, sharing her talents and passion for beauty and expression with those around her.
Sherry was a woman of deep faith, strength, and unwavering love. She loved her family fiercely and was known for her strong will, resilience, and devotion. Later in life, she became a devout Christian who believed that “everything happens for a reason,” and even in her most difficult and darkest hours, she never stopped counting her blessings.
She found great joy in cooking and baking for her loved ones, creating arts and crafts, and enjoying music. She stayed closely connected to her community, faithfully administering her high school’s alumni social media page. Sherry also had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs—Grizzy, Gracie, Miska, Koda, and Chance—who brought her constant companionship and joy. She had a special way of making others feel seen and appreciated, never missing an opportunity to wish someone a happy birthday and always lifting others up with her kindness.
Sherry is survived by her beloved husband, George Allen Pheasant; her children, Matthew Ryan (Elizabeth) McKibben, Cara McKibben (Jeremy) Swancey, Erica (Juan) Martinez Venegas, and Tashina Kalonaheskie; her cherished grandchildren, Matthew Reid (Anais) McKibben, Katelynn Swancey, Aleiyah Hull, Alaina Hull, Andyn Kalonaheskie, and Alijah Hull; and her great-grandchildren, Aria McKibben and Lexi Perez. She is also survived by her brothers, Rick (Patti) Daniels and Leo (Donna) Daniels, Jr., along with several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Jean Daniels; her father, Leo Edward Daniels, Sr.; her sister, Marsha Jean Daniels; and her son-in-law, James (Chase) Kalonaheskie.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Hog Mountain Baptist Church (1971 Hog Mountain Road, Dacula, Georgia), followed by a reception in the fellowship hall. The interment of her cremated remains will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Eternal Hills Cemetery in Snellville, Georgia.
Flowers are welcomed and appreciated. But please arrange delivery to the church on either Friday, June 12, 2026, or the morning of June 13, 2026, when someone will be available at the church to receive them.
Sherry’s legacy of faith, strength, and love will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
