Vinson Pappy "Junior" Lee Smith Jr.

Clyde-Vinson “Junior” Lee Smith, Jr., 73, died on January 16, 2016, at Mission Hospitals-St. Joseph Campus. Junior was born in Haywood County on November 3, 1942, to the late Vinson Lee Smith, Sr. and Gussie Shelton Smith. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, watching football, and spending time with his family. Junior loved to watch people go about their day to day activities. In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Dowdle. Junior is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marlene Smith; a son Chad Smith (Amanda); a daughter, Christie Conard (Jeff); a sister, Janie Green; a brother-in-law, Charles Dowdle; and grandchildren, Hunter Conard, Trinity Ramirez, Christian Ramirez, and Jordan Ramirez. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 19, at Pinnacle Church in Canton with the Reverend Heath Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be Brian Green, Tim Green, Lee Brow, Perry Brow, Larry Brow, and Randy Dowdle. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum of Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday, January 18, at Garrett Funerals and Cremations.
