Mrs. Corinne A. Biel Chalmers

CHALMERS, Corinne A. (nee Biel), 80, of Webster Groves, on May 30, 2011. Beloved wife of Steve A Chalmers; loving mother of Arthur W. Chalmers of Louisville, KY, Diane L. Chalmers of Moab UT; and Patricia (Mark) Chalmers-Wunderlich of Webster Groves, MO; dear grandmother of Stephanie Ann Wunderlich and James C. Wunderlich.

Born and raised in Chicago IL, Corinne was a graduate of Steimeitz High School. After high school Corinne attended and graduated from the Chicago Art Institute in 1950. She worked briefly for AT&T until 1952, when she married Steve. After moving to St. Louis she became active in Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Webster Groves and St. Peter Episcopal Church of Ladue. She volunteered at Church in various projects, where she was able to offer her creativity. Corinne was also a member of the Webster Groves Historical Society, serving as a docent at the Hawken House. She was a member of Questers, the Monday Club and a long time member of Westborough Country Club.

SERVICES: Visitation 4-8 p.m. with a brief Memorial Prayer Service at 7p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2011 Gerber Chapel, 23 W. Lockwood Ave. Webster Groves (968-2000). A Memorial Luncheon will take place at 1pm Friday, June 3, 2011 at Westborough Country Club 631 S. Berry Rd., St. Louis, MO 63122. Private Interment: Acacia Park Cemetery, Chicago IL. If desired contributions may be made in memory to St. Nicholas Family Life Center 12550 S. 40 Dr, St. Louis, MO 63141. Arrangements under the direction of Gerber Chapel, Webster Groves, MO.
