She was indeed a good neighbor and we will miss her on Forest Green Drive.  I always watched her yard signs around voting time and got very good advice.  Truly a great citizen.

We were fortunate to live next door to the Chiltons for twelve years.  On our first day there, Mrs. Chilton came to our kitchen door, bringing a plate of goodies and a wonderful welcome to the neighborhood.  She brought us more than goodies.  She brought friendliness, kindness, joy...to our lives. The years in Webster Groves are good memories. Our family loved Mr. and Mrs. Chilton. They will be in our hearts forever.

Emma Lee had many gifts, she inspired people to do more with their lives, brought energy to virtually any situation and taught others how to look at the bright side.  A wonderful neighbor and friend. I will miss the talks in the kitchen, watching movies together and talking about the plays at The Rep.  May her family and friends revel in their memories of this wonderful woman and the example she set. Steve, Rosemary and I send our condolences.

When I remember Emma Lee, I think of a line from the play "Auntie Mame":  "Life is a banquet and most poor fools are starving to death".  She filled her life with plates full of love and experiences.  May your memories give you comfort.

Emma Lee & Steve and Paul & I had the shared experience of moving to St. Louis from Chicago...and of having a "tail-ender" child.  It was through the League of Women Voters couples bridge group that we met...over 30 years ago.  It has been one of the great blessings of our lives to have known and loved the Chiltons.  We'll miss you Emma Lee...love to your wonderful family.  Your bubbling spirit will continue to lift us all.

Such a wonderful person !  She loved life, loved her family, loved her community and was devoted to the League of Women Voters and its work.  
Emma Lee felt for the less fortunate and never despaired of  a better world for future generations. 
It was always fun to be with her. Her positive nature was contagious!

Wonderful woman who was always so friendly and caring. We will miss Emma Lee, but know she is in a better place. Our thoughts are prayers are with your entire family.
