Eugene was a wonderful friend to myself, my family and especially my father. I think of him often and Eugene was truly one of my heroes. Peace be with you.

I was a student nurse at St John's Mercy Hospital when I first met Dr Dmytryk. He loved his profession, we could tell by his enthusiasm when he was teaching us during our surgical rotations. He was a gentleman and  scholar. And, a beloved physician by his patients and the hospital staff. I am honored to have met him. My sympathy to your family. “Doctor Gene,” when I was growing up, you and your family opened your home to me many times so I could spend time with my cousins… and away from my sisters! I've never forgotten that, and those memories are among some of my fondest. Now you're with family who went before you in a much better place… please say “Hi” to all for me.

Of course, I knew Doc Dmytryk (never called him "Doc" to his face) almost all of my life.  My favorite memories of him were in Grand Haven.  He was so relaxed and full of joy.  And there was nothing he liked better than a good joke.  If you knew DoctorD, you knew of his great faith.  I know that he will be warmly welcomed by our heavenly father.

Doc,as I call him, was My Cousin,Mentor, Friend, and Healer. I am proud to call him a relative and I thank him for all of the above.

I knew Dr. Dmytryk as a surgeon at St. John's Mercy when I first started working in Radiology.  He knew everybody and was a favorite of us all. No one had a better sense of humor than him.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

Dr D.was my friend and customer for many years.  I enjoyed when he came to my office and would share his many storys and humor.  After he went to Laclede Groves, I only had one chance to visit him but recall it fondly.  He was truly a fine person and a wonderful friend and customer.  I shall remember him fondly.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Dmytryk's passing.  I so enjoyed the two years I delivered Meals on Wheels to him and the conversations we had then. Also have great memories of working on 6B at St. John's helping his patients recover. He was a wonderful, caring surgeon. Heaven will be a better place with Dr. D there!
