Harry J. Mumm Jr, 94, died January 11, 2015. Harry, a native of St Louis, was married to his dear wife, Louisa for 44 years, who preceded him in death. He was the loving father to Diana (Gale) Heding, Don Mumm and Steve (Kim) Mumm.
Harry and his identical twin brother, Howard, served together in the army 70th infantry division, in the European theater in WWII, each rising to the rank of Sergeant First Class. After his return from the war, Harry became a proud graduate of Washington University School of Engineering. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, which he applied while working at Brown Shoe Company for over 30 years.
He adored his family, loved traveling, camping and always had a knack and skill for repairing any sort of vehicle engine, device, clock or appliance.
He was a patient, persistent man and often quoted his own father, who said, "Nothing is difficult, once you know how".
He is also survived by a brother, Don (Marilyn) Mumm, and grandchildren, Kristina (David) Romaker, Demian Cook, Heather Heding, Eric (Katie) Mumm and Emily (James) Jenkins, as well as 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
