Dear Mom,
Thank you for being such a wonderful mother. And friend. I am thankful to have so many memories of fun and laughter to help me through this sorrow: playing Scrabble and Upwords, Halloweens through the ages, visits to Ohio and Geneva, going to movies and countless other moments of just simply enjoying being with you.  
It was an honor and a joy to be your daughter. I will always love you and miss you.

I always enjoyed Peg's enthusiasm for baseball; the one sport from which youth springs eternal. Peg's beloved Indians played in the 1954 World Series and Peg made the trip to the Polo Grounds where she witnessed the Giants' Willie Mays make the greatest catch ever. It was a thrill for me to find an interested listener to entertain with my imitation and story of meeting Bob Feller.
I can hear Peg laughing and saying, "That sounds just like him!".
I had thought for years that Peg's favorite Indian was Lou Boudreaux. But Peg clarified only recently it was not Lou, but Jim Hegan. Thank you Peg, for being a wonderful storybook for baseball and beyond.

Our family appreciates the many expressions of love extended to Peg by family, workmates and wonderful friends.  So many echoed our own experiences.  Peg was bright in smarts and personality.  Her smile and laughter will be in our hearts and minds forever.  Which is why we find ourselves smiling while we are crying.  She showed great class as she battled her illness.  I take comfort is knowing that through all this Peg was very aware of her family's love for her.  Our kids could not have done more to express their love and concern.  It was most touching to see her extend her arms and display  her lovely smile when they entered her room.  The same was true with our grandkids.  She certainly loved our grandchildren.  Whatever God has in store for all of us as we all join his kingdom, he is getting a winner in our sweetheart Peg Norton McCarthy.          Jack McCarthy

Please accept our sincere condolences on Peg's death. I have fond memories of spending time with you both on your trip to London. We will keep you all in our prayers.

I'm sorry I didn't hear of this death until this evening, as I would have wanted to attend the wake and/or the funeral. My sincerest sympathy to Bridget and the rest of the family. I'll be praying for the repose of her soul and praying TO her for the rest of the family. I'm sure her grandchildren will be missing her.

McCarthy family, you are in my thoughts.  I only had the honor of meeting her a handful of times but it was clear she was a class act all the way through.  A trait that her children have certainly inherited.  Good luck to you all.

Jack, Fr. Brown shared Peg's 'graduation' to heaven at Mass yesterday....I know when we saw you last she was struggling - but still, it was a sad moment.  

I remember Peg as a bright light.  She glowed with enthusiasm and happiness.  She always greeted me with interest and energy and I loved her for it! 

All of you made her life wonderful .....as I know she did, yours.  May time heal your hearts quickly so you remember only the wonderful times and her many attributes.

Peg was a wonderful, caring, and FUN woman who I got to know during my four years as a student worker at Webster University.  My prayers are with you during your grief and now she had a huge impact on many lives.  She will be dearly missed.

My deepest sympathies to the family. I know what a unique influence she had on her family. I'm sure she will be greatly missed by the so many people that she was a friend and mother to; Webster Groves has a hole that cannot be refilled. Her laugh is something that I remember  as a part of my childhood.

I love you Mrs. McCarthy. Thank you for your hospitality, your smiles, laughter, and joy. You were genuine and full of life, even when you were old and hurting. You were an inspiration. God bless you now and forever!
