Atkinson, Roy William, Sr. age 79 passed away Friday, June 26, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Beryl Atkinson (nee Howard); loving father of Jay Atkinson and Keri (Bryan) Davis; dear grandfather of d’Artagnon & Zoran Mullins-Atkinson, Mikayla “Gracie” & Lucas Kuehnel and Hunter and Wynter Davis.
Roy graduated from Central High School in Springfield, MO in 1953; served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal from 1953-1957; attended SIUE and graduated with a BS of Fine Arts Degree, then furthering his education with a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Webster University. Roy taught for 35 years in the Ferguson-Florissant School District at Berkeley Senior High and McClure High School.
