Bernadette Genevieve Jones

Mrs. Jones was a resident of Welsh where she taught school for 30 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. She was a Catholic Daughter for 60 years, Eucharistic Minister and Lector, she also sang in the funeral choir and was a member of The Ladies Alter Society. She loved to ballroom dance and after moving to Welsh; she would laugh and say she had to learn to dance to “Cajun” music.

She is survived by her son; Thomas Blanchard Jones, Jr., of Pineville, LA, two daughters; Mary Sonnier and her husband Steve and Judy Robinson and her husband Donald all of Welsh, five grandchildren; Ralph Anthony Robinson and his companion, Tammy Gatte, Donald Rhett Robinson, Bernadette Nicole Sonnier and her partner, Felicia Moore, Stephen Elliott Sonnier and his wife Heather and Kimberly Ann Mallette and her husband William, four great grandchildren; Justin Rhett Robinson, Brandi Rachelle Robinson, Gavin Christopher Sonnier and Dane Elliott Sonnier. She was preceded in death by her husband; Thomas Blanchard Jones, Sr., her parents; David and Bernadette Dill; her brothers; George Dill, David Dill, Jr., and Charles Dill, Sr., and her sisters; Vivian Folse, Eleanor McGill, Hilda Landry, and Marjorie Malarcher.

Services for our Mother will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Cemetery. Father Herbert May will officiate. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 6:00 p.m. and a rosary will follow.
