Daven Duane Henderson

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…” Proverbs 3:5

Daven played basketball and was on the AAU Travel Team. He high jumped in track in District, Regionals and State for Welsh High School. He graduated from Welsh High School in 2011. He was a quiet person with a witty personality. He loved to eat and was a man of style. Daven and his blood brother wanted to open a clothing store and his dream was to become a rap artist. His favorite color was red. He loved his family, his dog and was excited to be able to welcome his son into this world. His favorite quote was “mi familia is me ombre” (My family is my friends).

He leaves to celebrate his life; parents, David Henderson and Selena Ardoin Henderson; fiancé, Tajee Barnes; grandmothers, Mary Francis Wynn of Roanoke and Juanita Ardoin of Lacassine; grandfather, Dave Wynn; sisters, Karley, McKenzie, and McKayla Henderson; aunts, Martha (Don) Richard of Lake Charles; Minister Terry Fontenot of Roanoke; uncles, Daniel (Stephanie) Ardoin of Greenbrier, AR and Skipper Ardoin of Lacassine; best friend, “Blood Brother” Malcolm; host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arlen Ardoin; great grandparents, Rev. Alex and Cora Fontenot and Mr. & Mrs. Julian Ardoin; sister, Kyrin Alayne Henderson.

His funeral will be 11am, Friday, July 12, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. Reverend Samuel Lofton will officiate. Visitation will begin Thursday 4pm-10pm and resume Friday 8am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ardoin Cove Cemetery.
