Mr. Nelson was a truck driver and was in the US Navy.
Survivors include his children, Scotty Nelson and wife Delta of Lake Charles, Joy Nelson Castle of Lake Charles, Autumn Robbins and husband Cameron of Coco FL, Jordan Nelson and wife Trena of Sulphur; sisters, Harriett Valet and husband Joe of Lake Charles, Judy Aldrich and husband Gary of Houston, TX; brother, Lanny "Butch" Nelson and wife Phyllis of Maryland; grandchildren, Chance, Tanner, and Bailey Nelson, Andrew and Nicholas Castle, Drake Robbins, Daxton, Sage and Chloe Nelson and Many friends from the Jennings Veterans Home.
A memorial service will be at 6pm Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. Visitation will begin Thursday from 3:00 p.m until 9:00 pm.
