She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed her grandchildren. She enjoyed landscaping, sewing and had a huge doll collection.
She is survived by her son, Billy Hammond; two grandsons, Walter Hammond and Andrew Hammond.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles D. Brunt; parents, William Asa Burgess and Margaret Tadlock; brother, William Burgess; sisters, Grace Cullins, Peggy Wiggins, Sue Holland, Tiny Ponder, Effie Flowe and Sara Andreas.
Her funeral service will be 11am, Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. The Rev. Randy Monroe and Fr. Marshall Boulet will officiate. Visitation will begin Monday 4pm-8pm and resume Tuesday, 8am until service time. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Jennings.
