Her family was the founders of Hayes, Louisiana and she was the last remaining matriarch of the family. She retired as the first female Postmaster of Hayes. She was perky and sassy. A wonderful and loving daughter, sister and aunt. She loved the outdoors and animals. She was an advocate for children and always tried to help those who were less fortunate.
She is survived by her great nieces, Bonnie Bosshamer and Karen Hayes of Texas; great nephews, Allen Hayes and Samuel Hayes of Louisiana; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Her service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. Burial will be at Hayes Cemetery.
