John Dale "Boo" Matthews

He was born in Sulphur and lived in Welsh most of his life. He loved duck hunting, guiding and was a professional retriever trainer and a carpenter by trade. He loved spending time with his family and his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his sisters, Laura Compton of Welsh; Ruth Boudreaux of Scott; his five nieces, four nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Joseph and Laura Martin Matthews, Sr. and his brother, Alvin Joseph "AJ" Matthews, Jr.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, with a Cursillo Rosary at 7:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. Funeral Service will be Friday, November 16, 2018 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Deacon Wayne Chapman will officiate. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
