He was a WWII Army Veteran, a fisherman and an avid hunter, even though his wife was a better shot. He was a cattleman and loved to tend his garden and spend time with his family.
Survivors include his daughter, Lavilla Thibodeaux and husband, James of Youngsville, LA; daughter-in-law, Lilly Brown of Memphis, TN; brother-in-law, Merwyn Watkins of Florien, LA; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne W. Brown; son, Charles "Chuck" Brown; grandson, Edgar "Crawfish" Brown; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. til service. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
