

Mr. Johnson was a veteran of WWII. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged.
He was a hard worker and would do anything to help out another in need. He was the owner and operator of Johnson’s Hardware, Sporting Goods, and Gifts for 33 years until his retirement in 1989. Mr. Johnson was once a member of the Knights of Columbus and an usher and Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. He was also a fisherman and an avid gardener.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 64 years, Lillian, his daughters, Vicki Arceneaux and husband Rick of Welsh and Diana Khoury and husband Steve of Sulphur; his grandchildren, Casey Khoury of Sulphur, Stephen Khoury and wife Jolie of Sulphur, Christopher Arceneaux of Lake Charles, and Kelly Lanthier and husband Darren of Lake Charles; and six great-grandchildren, Kennedie, Kade, and Katie Khoury and Andrew, Kaleb, and Luke Lanthier. He also leaves behind one brother, Hugh Johnson, of Welsh. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Virginia and Ben Johnson, his brothers, Duet and Lawrence Johnson, his sisters, Dora Benoit, Mary Spell, and Zora Miller, and a son-in-law, John Hebert.
Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, from 4-9 P.M. A wake service will be held at 7 P.M. followed by a rosary led by Deacon Wayne Chapman. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning at 9 A.M. until the time of the service. The funeral service will be at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, March 23, at Our Lady Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Our Lady Seven Dolors Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Casey Khoury, Christopher Arceneaux, Darren Lanthier, Wayne Pitre, Stephen Khoury, and Roland Blanchard. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Johnson, Theodore Matte, and Bobby Hebert.
The family would like to thank all of Mr. Johnson’s doctors. They would also like to extend their gratitude to Heart of Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Lee and his family in his last days, especially Alicia, Casey, Diana, Dawn, Robert, Sheryl, Julie, and Gay.
