Paula Meche Quebodeaux, a beacon of life, love, and compassion, was called home on August 3, 2023, at the age of 55, leaving behind a legacy of love and inspiration that will forever be etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
Welcoming Paula into her heavenly home are her parents John Forrest “Sam” and Elizabeth Guillory Meche, brother Mark Anthony Meche, and nephews Jimmy Cormier, Devin Meyer, and Aaron Johnson. Here to cherish her memories are her husband, Bubba Quebodeaux, siblings Margaret Cormier, Lillian Miller, Kathryn Thibodeaux, Wanda Gaspard, Jeffery Meche, Bernadette Meyer, Thomas Meche, Forrest Meche, and Phyllis Johnson, as well as a plethora of additional family members and friends.
A pillar to her community, Paula was born October 5, 1967, at Welsh General Hospital, now Golden Age of Welsh, where she dedicated the last 18 years to taking care of those in need. From looking after the children of friends and family members to caring for the residents at the facility where she worked as a C.N.A., Paula devoted her life to service and caring for others. Her unwavering selflessness was a true testament to her character, and the exuberance she brought to every situation will never be forgotten. Fun-loving and carefree, she was the life of every party; whether she was playing games, showing off her unique dance moves, bragging about her famous gumbo and cinnamon rolls, or just hanging out, her presence was always known. Just as she was loved by all that were lucky enough to know her, Paula loved her husband, family, and friends unconditionally. The way she enjoyed living life to the fullest should be an inspiration to us all.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. The visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday until the time of service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Cemetery in Thornwell, La.
