

He was a 1954 graduate of Welsh High School and then served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957. He entered McNeese State College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1962. He then went to Loyola School of Dentistry in New Orleans and earned the Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1966. During Pierre’s college days at Loyola School of Dentistry he was elected class president for two years. Pierre retired after 41 years as a self-employed dentist in Jennings. Furthermore, Pierre served as an officer of the American Legion post #9046. Pierre was also a parishioner of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He loved fishing, hunting and spending time at his camp on the bayou. He followed McNeese sports and loved travelling with his family. He utilized his special engineering talents when tinkering in his shop and for all the special handy man projects he was asked to do.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Audrey Daigle Daboval, Welsh; brothers, Rene’ J. Daboval (Arlene), Thornwell and Alexander D. Daboval Jr. (Bernadine), Welsh; and sister, Dr. Jeanne Daboval, Lake Charles. Pierre is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will commence at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. The rosary will be held on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday at 9 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. procession time. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh at 1 p.m. The Rev Alan Trouille will be the celebrant. The committal will be Oaklawn cemetery.
