Robert Wayne Sonnier

Robert “Wayne” Sonnier, Age 72, a resident of Morse was entrusted to God’s loving care on Thursday, April 14, 2016 in Lake Charles. Wayne was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His family held him in the highest esteem. His family was precious to him. He was indeed the Cornerstone of this family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Roberta Thibodeaux Sonnier of Morse; sons, Brent Sonnier (JoEllen) and Tommy Sonnier, all of Welsh; step-son; Toby Matt ( Danica) of Houma and Wesley Matte ( Nastasha) of Chesapeake, VA; daughter, Shelly Sonnier (Troy) of Welsh; sister, Beverly Landry( Lee Adam) of Lacassine; grandchildren; Brittany, Meagan, Julian, Jason, Chloe, Tabitha, T.J., Mya, Leutry, Eleana, Timothy and Alex. Wayne is also survived by 8 Great-grandchildren. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; Cyrus Sonnier and Beulah Guillory Sonnier, 2 brothers; Jimmy and Charles Sonnier.

A Memorial Service will commence at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 11:00am until Christian Service time at 2:00 pm in the chapel. Deacon Wayne Chapman will officiate. A private burial will follow. Words of comfort may be expressed at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
