Antonio D. Ramirez, 78, of Weslaco, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, at Knapp Medical Center. Born on December 7, 1946, in Weslaco to Hipolito Ramirez and Emilia Daniel, Antonio’s life was rooted in deep family bonds, quiet passions, and steadfast service.
A proud U.S. Army Veteran, Antonio carried with him a strong sense of duty and loyalty throughout his life. Those who knew him will remember his curious mind and his joy in the simple pleasures of everyday life. He loved watching Netflix—especially foreign films and war movies—and never passed up a good trip to the movie theater. He had a deep appreciation for National Geographic and a lifelong fascination with automotives, particularly classic cars. Whether discovering a new restaurant or visiting a favorite spot, he enjoyed going out to eat with friends and family. And he was affectionately known for “Googling everything,” always eager to learn, verify, and explore the world around him.
Above all, Antonio cherished time spent with his loving wife of 53 years, Maria. Their bond was the center of his world and the foundation of a beautiful family life.
Antonio is survived by his devoted wife, Maria C. Ramirez; his children, Aaron Ramirez and Adriana M. Ramirez Benitez (David Benitez Jr.); and his siblings, Jesus Daniel (Lina) Ramirez, Hipolito Ramirez, Paulita Cuellar, Juanita (Frank) Marroquin and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was received in heaven by his parents and siblings: Alfonso Ramirez, Roberto Ramirez, and Enrique Ramirez; who have preceded him in death.
Antonio will be deeply missed by all who loved him. His warmth, humor, curiosity, and gentle spirit leave a lasting imprint on those fortunate enough to have known him.
