It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Elena Garcia, who went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on July 31, 1950, Elena’s life was marked by her deep faith, boundless love, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife. She spent 53 blessed years as the beloved wife of Florencio Garcia, with whom she shared a journey of faith, love, and strength.
Elena's greatest joy was found in her family. As a mother, she was nurturing and kind, always ready with a listening ear, a word of encouragement, and a prayer. She is survived by her children, Irma Linda Cortez and Florencio Garcia Jr. (Sonia), whose lives she deeply impacted with her love and wisdom. Elena's legacy of love and faith lives on through her grandchildren: Fabian Cortez Jr., Abrian Cortez, Isaiah Cortez, Natalie Nicole Garcia, Ariana Garcia, Naydine Moreno, Hannah Garcia, Jonah Garcia, Jessylnn Garcia, Genesis Garcia, Jacob Garcia, Alyiah Contreras, Julissa Contreras, and Alissa Contreras, as well as her 13 great-grandchildren, whose laughter and light brightened her days.
Elena was not only a devoted family matriarch but also a prayer warrior who found strength and peace through her relationship with God. She spent countless hours in prayer, lifting her family, friends, and church community before the Lord. Her faith was her foundation, and her love for Jesus Christ was evident in every aspect of her life. Elena found great comfort and joy in attending church, where she was a faithful servant of the Lord and a source of encouragement to those around her.
She was a hardworking and selfless woman, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she taught those around her the value of hard work, faith, and the importance of prayer. Elena’s life was a testament to the grace and mercy of God, and she leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished.
Though we grieve the loss of such a beautiful soul, we also take comfort in knowing that Elena is now resting in the arms of her Savior. As she has entered into eternal rest, we hold on to the promises of God, knowing that we will one day be reunited with her in Heaven. Elena’s unwavering faith and love for Christ continue to inspire us, and we are grateful for the time we shared with her.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her love will continue to shine through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the countless lives she touched with her prayers and kindness.
A visitation for Elena will occur Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 2PM - 10PM with a prayer service at 7PM. A chapel service will occur Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 10 AM with a burial to follow. All services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Highland and Memorial Park, 6705 N. FM 88, Weslaco, TX 78596.
Rest in peace, Elena Garcia. You are forever loved, and you will never be forgotten. Until we meet again, may you rest in the arms of Jesus, where there is no pain, no sorrow, only peace and everlasting love.
