Esperanza C. Martinez, age 89 passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Esperanza was born on August 27, 1935. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Baldomero Martinez Sr; parents: Julian Cabrera Sr & Isabel Tellez; siblings: Julian Cabrera Jr, Leonor Ybarra, Elisa Martinez and Petra Cavazos who have preceded her in death.
Esperanza loved spending time with her family and going on road trips. She loved all things Disney and collected Coca Cola memorabilia. Esperanza also greatly enjoyed music and loved to dance.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Baldomero Martinez Jr. (Lori), Marcella De Los Santos, Nancy Martinez (Johnny), Irma Martinez and Marla Jane Reyes (Rudy); her sister, Maria Cruz (Ramon) 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Having the honor of serving as pallbearers are: Roberta Zamilpa, Francisco Villarreal Jr, Rudy Reyes Jr, Sam Chaney, Josh Lara, Justin Berlanga and honorary pallbearer, Vicent Zamilpa.
Visitation for Esperanza will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Highland, Weslaco, TX 78599. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc, Weslaco, TX followed by the interment at 11:00 AM at Highland Memorial Park, 6705 FM 88, Weslaco, TX 78599.
