

Ester Villarreal, age 81, of Edcouch, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Born on April 7, 1944, Ester was the daughter of the late Gavina Cavazos Hernandez and Eusebio Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Salvador Villarreal, with whom she shared many years of love, partnership, and devotion.
Ester was a devoted Christian whose faith was the cornerstone of her life. She read the Bible faithfully, knew scriptures by hearts, and was a true prayer warrior. Her unwavering spiritual devotion inspired all who knew her. She found great joy in listening to her two favorite TV preachers each day, drawing strength and wisdom from their teachings. Ester had a deep desire to uplift her family and friends, always encouraging them to stay rooted in love and joy of Christ.
Ester also cherished the beauty of nature, especially birds, which brought her peace and delight. She will be remembered for her faith, her warmth and her enduring love for God, family and friends.
Ester was the proud mother of two children, Melissa Martinez and Salvador Santos Villarreal, and the cherished grandmother of John Derek Odell, Sergio Isaac Martinez, Korrina V. Martinez, and Katelyn B. Martinez. Her family was the joy of her life, and she dedicated herself fully to their care, support, and happiness. She is also survived by her sisters Maria Vallejo, Rosalinda Rodriguez, Florinda Hernandez and Diana Flores.
