

A life-long resident of Weslaco, Graciela was married to Ernesto Zarate Meave, the love of her life, for 52 years until his passing, on January 3, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hipolito and Elia Monteagudo, and her infant son, Ernesto Meave, Jr. Graciela is survived by her son, Ernesto Roy Meave (Olga); daughters, Sarita Meave-Balabuch (N.R. Balabuch), Cristela Meave Gonzalez (Carlos Miguel) Mary Ann Meave Handy (Rolando Lee); Adina Meave and sisters, Minerva Monteagudo Salazar, Hermelinda Monteagudo Flores, and Rosario Monteagudo Rosier. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was an active parishioner at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco for 80 years where she participated in various ministries. She was a member of Asociación de la Medalla Milagrosa for over 40 years, taught Catechism for 18 years and helped prepare many children to receive their first Holy Communion. Graciela also sang in the church choir for 10 years. She enjoyed gardening, scratch off tickets, playing the piano, singing, and watching classic movies and comedies.
Friends and family members are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday June 6, 2018 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM followed by a rosary from 7:00-8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel - Highland Funeral Home, located at 6705 N FM 88, Weslaco.
Mass will be on Thursday, June 7 at 10:00 AM at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, located at 109 S Illinois Avenue, Weslaco. The interment of Mr. and Mrs. Meave will immediately follow at Funeraria Del Angel - Highland Funeral Home.
